Equitable Relief for Medicare Recipients

Since the onset of Covid-19 in New York, all local social security offices were closed, and services were not readily available and very limited.

If You are a Medicare recipients who was not able to:

  • Able to enroll for their Medicare Part B
  • Missed their Special Enrollment Period
  • Unable to re-instate their Medicare Part B due to Social Security offices service issues
  • Or were not able to reach a Social Security agent for help
  • You can now apply for Medicare Part B

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid is offering equitable relief to people who were unable to submit Medicare Part B enrollment or disenrollment requests due to issues in services experienced by the Social Security Administration. This also applies to Medicare Part A enrollment or disenrollment request. Social Security is offering equitable relief if you experienced challenges contacting them by phone.

If you experienced issues regarding their Medicare part A or part B enrollment by phone after January 1, 2022, Social Security is granting additional time through December 30, 2022.
