What happened to Assurance Wireless? Can I still qualify for a free phone or Lifeline services? What are the income eligibility or program eligibility guidelines?

This is one of the most common question people keep asking in the New York low income neighborhoods

Ever since Covid-19, Assurance Wireless agents are no where to be seen. People who want the service don’t know who to attend to, and people currently getting the service feel abandoned after learning that no one in the community can fix their phone issues. On a good note, based on the latest information posted on their website, they seem to still offer services in the NYC region.
